Awards Instituted by the Trust
Phulashree Foundation has instituted merit awards at premier Indian institutions, given in memory of its founders, Late Phullara Nayak and Late Srihari Nayak.
Phulashree Foundation Award
Instituted 2026 · First presented at the 7th Convocation, July 2026
On the request of the President of Phulashree Foundation to the Director, IIT Goa, in April 2026, the Chairperson and distinguished members of the Senate Scholarship, Prizes & Awards Committee (SSPAC), IIT Goa recommended the institution of the Phulashree Foundation Award, to be presented to the overall topper (based on the highest CPI) among the graduating female undergraduate (B.Tech.) students of the respective batch.
A medal inscribed "Phulashree Foundation Award" is presented to the topper. In IIT Goa's records and reporting documentation, the award is formally titled "Late Phullara Nayak and Late Srihari Nayak Award for the Best Graduating UG Woman Student who has secured the highest CPI, instituted by the Phulashree Foundation", with the short form "Phulashree Foundation Award".
The recommendation of the SSPAC was approved by the Senate and the Board of Governors of IIT Goa, and the first award was presented at the 7th Convocation of IIT Goa, held in July 2026.
Phulashree Award

At the Institute Day function held at AIIMS Bhubaneswar in 2014, Shri Sundeep Kumar Nayak, IAS, was a Distinguished Guest. During his address to the students, faculty and guests, he announced from the dais that he would request AIIMS to institute an award for the best B.Sc. Nursing (Honours) student passing out each year.
Subsequently, AIIMS Bhubaneswar instituted an award, funded from the corpus donated by Phulashree Foundation, given every year and titled "Phulashree Award for the Best Student with B.Sc. Nursing (Honours) Degree, in memory of Late Phullara Nayak and Late Srihari Nayak".
